custom stationery

What is it?

Wedding stationery includes everything from Save the Dates, invitations, escort cards, programs and menus, to thank you cards. It's all the paper goodies that your guests will enjoy before, during, and even after your big day. Custom wedding stationery is designed specifically for you, and you get to be a part of the entire process. Semi-custom wedding stationery is created using an existing design, with personalizations to make it unique to you. Your stationery pieces will coordinate perfectly with the other design elements, creating a cohesive experience for you and your guests. Custom and semi-custom stationery also becomes a very special keepsake; you and your loved ones can treasure it for years to come!

For a more in-depth breakdown of terms and elements, visit my page THE ELEMENTS.

Now, is it for you?

First, let's talk about your other options. You can find thousands of pre-designed stationery pieces online, available at a lower price point than custom stationery. There are a lot of beautiful options that allow you to plug in your details (names, date, venue) and add to your cart. The downside, of course, is that they will not be customized to you or your wedding, and you may see a friend with the same suite someday (it happens)! In addition, you usually aren't dealing with a person, but instead are working through a company, which can mean a lower level of customer service and communication. I can assure you that I am a human, which means I can respond to every little tweak, size adjustment, color shift, etc., that you may desire! I recommend custom stationery to any couples who value their guests' experience of the big day, and who are looking for a personalized and unique vehicle with which to tell their story. How much does it cost?

Custom stationery is an investment much like wedding photography, videography, florals, etc. Clients can expect to spend at least $2000 on a basic package (100 invitations, RSVP cards, an insert, coordinating addressed envelopes, and postage), with endless additions and upgrades. Cost per suite decreases as the quantity increases, due to bulk printing and paper pricing, so (25) suites might come down to $45-50/household, while (200) suites may be closer to $10-15/household. I recommend being upfront with your budget expectations right away, so that your proposal fits your needs perfectly.

Semi-custom stationery is pre-designed (yet fully customizable!) and is offered at a much lower price point. My current collection ranges starts at $865 for (100) suites, and can be personalized to fit your vision perfectly. Check out my current collection!

How does it work?

You inquire, we chat, talk through the nitty-gritty details, there are proofs-proofs-proofs, we send to print, and you celebrate! More on my design process can be found here! I recommend starting the process 6-8 months before your event date, to allow for a stress-free (and rush-fee-free) planning process!

What about day-of pieces?

Freja Creative is special because pretttttty much everything is done in-house. As a stationer *slash* calligrapher, I not only design your Save the Dates and invitations, but I can address your envelopes, calligraph your place cards, letter on a mirror for an elegant escort display, create that gorgeous wooden welcome sign, and so on! If you need something with words on it, I've got you. And, you can rest easy knowing that everything will coordinate and come together on the big day! Freja Creative reserves day-of signage and stationery for invitation clients; clients interested in items for their wedding day ONLY are accepted based on availability. There is a $1500 day-of stationery and signage minimum order for non-invitation clients.
